Hola everyone!! It’s Wednesday again! Whoa…where is time flying???!
Here in crazy-town we have been rocking our cameras like crazy and truly having a blast. The Outer Banks is finally warm and showing-off some awesome waves, heavier traffic, and sunny skies…feels like summer! Yay! So, I feel super lucky that my computer looks straight out a window at all of this awesome-ness.
And, it is from this computer that I get to show-off a bit of our work and introduce you to the incredible people that bless our lives. 🙂
Today’s blog is the intimate, Nags Head wedding of Meggie and Bennie from Greensboro, North Carolina. I had the opportunity to meet this quiet-spoken, very sweet bride at the 2014 Outer Banks Association Wedding Expo. Meggie had a lot of direction, knowing exactly what she was looking for in her wedding vendors and took a lot of time making the perfect decisions on who would play a part of her big day. Her enthusiasm about her wedding was enough to make me want to jump right into planning mode with her 🙂 We spent time reviewing images, thoughts, timelines…then reviewing them again…until she had the perfect plan!
Between the Expo and the wedding day, we learned that after 12 years in the military, Bennie is now a firefighter (who is super buff and super cute…BTW). We also learned that this tough Mr. has a thoughtful, gentle side. After taking Meggie horseback riding one afternoon, they returned to Meggie’s home where she found her entire dining room filled with balloons. The string of each balloon had an image of one of the couple’s memories attached. <3 (Can you stand it!!??) There was one heart shaped balloon in the room. On the bottom of this balloon’s string was the ring…
Meggie and Bennie chose the Outer Banks as their destination wedding location because these beautiful beaches have been the home of many family vacations for Meggie and her family. She says that since she was 4 years old her family has traveled to Buxton, NC for relaxing times away from home. She has grown-up loving the Outer Banks beaches and it meant a lot to her to celebrate her wedding day on these shores.
And, what a day to celebrate!! This May wedding day could not have begged for better weather. Bright, bright, joyful sun lighted the very blue skies. Whispy, white clouds slowly made their way by. And, the temps were not too hot…not cold. It truly was perfect.
After starting the day with the couple’s First Look at a vacation home at the Nags Head Golf Links, Mere, Carrie, Meggie, and Bennie made their way to Jennette’s Pier for a few beautiful pier images with this amazing duo. After the images, the Sarah Keenan Photography and Design team, met Meggie, Bennie, and the entire wedding crew back at the beach for a very intimate ceremony and reception. As Mere put it, “There was food, first dances, and speeches to kick-off the celebration. It really was an undeniably beautiful day with genuine love and excitement for their future.”
A huge congratulations, Meggie and Bennie! And, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your most important day. 🙂 We wish you all the best!
Until Next Time~
